Sarah
Chief Sarah, Sarah Tyler Digital

I love to code. I started tinkering with JavaScript and HTML in high school, building choose your own adventures out of http hyperlinks. I taught myself javascript by reverse engineering code found online. I'm an applications kind of gal, with a mathematical and statistics background who codes on the weekends for fun. (Or at least I did before I became a mom and lost all semblance of free time.) These days the line between coding for fun and coding for work has been blurred now that I started my own business, Sarah Tyler Digital.

Despite having a PhD in Computer Science, I still consider myself a generlist. I've taken advanced coursework in theory, systems and artificial intelligence and worked on all kinds of projects in the field. One of the things I like most about running my own business is the number of hats I get to wear.

I love photography and will do almost anything for a good photo, especially of my kids. Funny faces, silly jokes, ridiculous dances; my clown game is on point. I'll ask my kids to run up and tackle me just to get that perfect action shot as they approach. More than once I've encouraged the kids to chase me in the pool while I hold my very expensive and very not water proof camera a few inches above the water's surface. No cameras or kids have so far been harmed in my quest for The Perfect Photo. I have lost a lense, though, and a couple of UV filters.

I am the ultimate bargin hunter. Black friday is my jam. As far as I'm conserned the seasons go Spring, Summer, Savings, Winter. Okay, maybe that's too extreeme, but I do hold off on many purchases until they normally go on sale and I usually research an items price history before making a purchase to be sure I am getting the best possible price. I view it as a personal defeat when the price of an item drops further after I make a purchase. Seriously. I still get frustrated thinking about past purchases I overspent. Even if just by a couple dollars. Even if many years ago.
